Joby Aviation Advances Air Taxi Commercialization with Successful Dubai Test Flights
Joby Aviation's electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing (eVTOL) aircraft has completed a series of piloted test flights in Dubai, marking a critical step toward commercial deployment. The flights demonstrated full transition from vertical take-off to horizontal cruise, with the company targeting operational services as early as 2026.
Paul Sciarra, Joby's executive chair, emphasized the significance of these tests for the air taxi industry. "The question has shifted from 'if' to 'when' these vehicles will enter service," he told the Financial Times. The Dubai campaign follows a successful transition flight in California earlier this year.
